Meet 4 year old Jonathan.

Team Nathaniel was able to help this family with financial assistance. Below is Jonathan’s story shared by his mother:

I was asked to write about my son's journey with cancer. This has been horrible for me and couldn't imagine how my now 4 year old son really feels about this. Jonathan was diagnosed October 2018 with Philadelphia Positive Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. I was so thankful for the E.R team at the St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, MT. They actually listened to me and finally tested his blood. After the results we were flown here to Colorado 4 hours later.  The first month was the worst for us both. Jonathan was connected to all sorts of monitors and had to have surgery to get his port in. His poor little face was so inflamed from the cancer being misdiagnosed for 3 months. After only a week his beautiful little face returned to normal and his bulging tummy deflated after 3weeks. The Oncology team here at the Children's Hospital has been so amazing I decided to make Aurora our home until Jonathan is completely cancer free. Which was a good choice because he is now suffering a relapse. I couldn't imagine having to lose everything we own for a second time if we did go home to Montana. I'm constantly praying this ends quickly. All the pokes, nausea, mood swings, head and body aches. We were so close to maintenance and now we are possibly facing a bone marrow transplant. I'm not sure what else to say other than. This has been so much more a battle than a journey and I pray we are victorious.
