7 Year Old Ivy (Wings as of September 2019)

In January of 2018, 6 year old Ivy Clevenger was diagnosed with a Wilms tumor that was growing off of her left kidney. It was 6 pounds and stage 2. After surgery to remove the tumor and kidney and following 19 treatments of chemo, Ivy was cancer free for 10 months. In April of 2019, she was diagnosed again with a Wilms tumor stage 4 in her left lung. Ivy then had radiation and started chemo again. 

Sadly, at the age of 7 in September 2019, it broke our hearts to learn that Ivy lost her battle with cancer. Our thoughts and prayers remain with Ivy’s loving family, as we know their grievance process will continue for years to come. Ivy’s story continues to serve as a reminder to all of us that we must remain steadfast in our mission to help families along the way on our journey to continue fighting until we find a cure.

A note from Ivy’s mother included the following prior to her passing:

Following Ivy’s passing, we were thanked for providing Ivy’s mother the opportunity to spend as much time with Ivy as possible without having to worry about how the expenses would be paid. That time together became more precious with the sudden passing of this sweet 7 year old hero.
